Temple starting forward Micheal Eric, a junior from Lagos, Nigeria, is out for the rest of the year after suffering a fractured right patella during practice on Tuesday, Temple announced Thursday night before the Owls game against Richmond at the Liacouras Center.

Eric, one of only three Owls to start all 24 games this year, is scoring 7.1 points per game and ranks second on the team in rebounding at 5.9 per game. Hes also averaging 1.6 blocks per game.

Eric has scored in double figures six times this year, including a career high of 16 against Akron in December. He recorded his first career double-double against Fordham earlier this month with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Eric, 6-foot-11, 240 pounds, spent two years at the Church Farm School in Exton. Hes played in 54 games at Temple, totaling 421 points, 290 rebounds and 70 rebounds.

Temple, ranked No. 23 in the latest AP poll, has five regular-season games left before the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament.
