Temple's Allen to work out for Sixers Saturday

The 76ers will hold their first pre-draft workout this Saturday, and two local products are scheduled to participate.

Joining Temples Lavoy Allen and Philly native Rick Jackson from Syracuse will be Vernon Macklin (Florida), Greg Smith (Fresno State), Chris Wright (Dayton) and Tomislav Zubcic (Croatia).

Lavoy Allen (6-9, 225, Temple)
Out of Morrisville, Pa., Allen averaged 11.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 33 games last season. He led the Owls in minutes (33.9), blocks (1.8) and rebounds in 2010-11.

Rick Jackson (6-9, 240, Syracuse)
With the Orange, Jackson averaged 13.1 points, 2.2 assists and 10.3 rebounds in 2010-11. Last season was his best overall season, averaging 35.6 minutes in 35 games. Jackson attended Neumann Gorretti High School.

Vernon Macklin (6-10, 245, Florida)
Macklin shot a team-leading 59.3 percent from the field in 2010-11. The center averaged 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds last season with the Gators.

Greg Smith (6-10, 250, Fresno State)
Smith averaged 11.7 points, 1.7 assists and 8.1 rebounds in 2010-11. The center led the Bulldogs in minutes (30.4), field goal percentage (57.4 percent) and rebounds.

Chris Wright (6-8, 226, Dayton)
With the Flyers last season, Wright led the team averaging 13.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. The forward played in all 36 games, averaging 28.8 minutes.
Tomislav Zubcic (6-10, 210, KK Cibona VIP Zagreb)
In 25 games with KK Cibona VIP Zagreb of the Adriatic League last season, Zubcic averaged 9.7 points, 1.1 assists and 0.2 blocks per game. He also played 10 games with the same team in the Euroleague, averaging nine points, 0.9 assists and 0.1 blocks.
