Phillies place Gload on paternity leave list

PITTSBURGHThe Phillies have placed outfielderfirst baseman Ross Gload on paternity leave and recalled outfielder John Mayberry Jr. from Triple A.

By major league rule, Gload has up to three days to be with his family. He will likely rejoin the club Monday in Philadelphia.

Mayberry is back with the Phillies a day after being optioned to Triple A when outfielder Shane Victorino was activated from the disabled list. Mayberry was expected to arrive in Pittsburgh in time for Saturday nights game.
