PITTSBURGHThe Phillies hold the 39th overall pick in baseballs first-year player draft, which begins Monday night. The first 60 picks will be made Monday night. The event will be televised on MLB Network.

The Phils second pick, 66th overall, will be made Tuesday. The event runs through Wednesday.

Marti Wolever, the Phils scouting director, and his staff typically go for the best available player with their first pick. With 38 selections sitting between the Phillies and their first pick, it is difficult to predict who the club will end up with. Wolever would like to add left-handed pitching, catching and middle infielders in this draft.

The Phils forfeited their first-round pick for signing free-agent Cliff Lee. They gained a pick between the first and second rounds (No. 39) and a second-round pick (No. 66) after losing Jayson Werth to Washington.
Rollins update
Shortstop Jimmy Rollins did not play Sunday because of a swollen right knee. He fouled a pitch off the knee on Saturday night.

No comment, said Rollins when asked how he felt after Sundays game. Write what you see.

Rollins walked with a noticeable limp.

Manager Charlie Manuel said Rollins was day to day. It is difficult to imagine him being ready to play Monday night.

After Saturdays game, Rollins said he didnt think the injury would require a trip to the disabled list.
