It figures to be something along the lines of Meet the Fockers.

Except, its the Flyers and club chairman Ed Snider is in the role of Robert DeNiro when Russian goalie Ilya Bryzgalov travels to Philadelphia to meet with the Flyers this week.

The 30-year-old Bryzgalov will meet with Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren and other members of the organization on Thursday and Friday, while his agent, Ritch Winter, will resume negotiations, which havent made much progress since the Flyers acquired the goalies rights last week.

Sources said it was uncertain whether the first dayThursdaywould be set aside strictly for Bryzgalov to meet with Snider and others, or whether Friday would involve negotiations only.

Winter texted CSNPhilly.com this week saying he was going to radio silence on the talks until there is some kind of resolution, one way or the other. Holmgren said no progress had been made.

The Flyers have Bryzalgovs rights until July 1 when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

He is expected to land a contract of at least five years and worth around 6 million per year.

If Bryzgalov is seeking more than 6 million, he likely wont be signed as a Flyer given the clubs precarious salary cap setting.
