The Flyers on Monday signed left wing Marcel Noebels, their fourth-round pick from the 2011 draft, to a three-year entry-level contract worth 2.325 million.

Noebels, 19, is listed as 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. He's known as a strong skater as well as a talented playmaker.

"Noebels has adjusted pretty well, and he's positioning himself better in the second half of the season," wrote B.J. MacDonald in Noebels' NHL scouting prospect card. "He's got nice size and awareness, displays playmaking capabilities, I like the way he thinks, but he must improve his foot speed."

A native of Tonisvorst, Germany, Noebels played for the WHL's Thunderbirds last season, where he registered 28 goals and 26 assists. As a member of Germany's under-20 World Junior Championship team, he netted one goal and two assists.
