How do people really feel about Eric Lindros, a decade after he left Philadelphia?
Though more talented than Rod BrindAmour, if you rank Lindros and Brindy head-to-head among Flyer fans, you sense that many of them would prefer No. 17 over No. 88, just because BrindAmour was immensely more popular.
There was no me vs. the club with BrindAmour, which is what sharply divided the fan base here in the latter year of the Lindros Era.
When Lindros was traded from the Flyers to the Rangers, this town was torn in half as to whether it was the Flyers who drove him away or whether Lindros and his family created much of the chaos that engulfed and ruined the end of his career here.
Now these two giants compete in Part 3 of our All-Time Flyers team for best center between 1991 and 1999.

1991-99
NHL
Left wing
John LeClair: Best shot from the left circle in club history, his 333 goals are third all-time at this spot.
Craig Berube: One of the toughest wingers ever, always willing to fight, he was an understated glue guy in the dressing room.
Shjon Podein: Quiet and unassuming, this kid from Minnesota made his mark here on special teams.
Center
Pelle Eklund: The first talented centerman from Europe, he ranks in the top five in scoring at this position (452 points).
Eric Lindros: Could have the been the best ever were it not for concussions and controversy. The face and symbol of the Flyers though the 1990s.
Rod BrindAmour: Set a standard for an entire generation of players in terms of conditioning, yet never wore the C as a Flyer.
Right wing
Mikael Renberg: Part of the famed Legion of Doom line with Lindros and LeClair. Abdominal and groin issues ruined his career.
Mark Recchi: Member of the Crazy Eights; among the few Flyers to play here twice; second only to Tim Kerr in points at this spot (627).
Kevin Dineen: His father, Bill, coached him here during two years when Kevin produced 61 goals in the early 1990s.
Defenseman
Eric Desjardins: Considered by many the best Flyer d-man of his generation, was a staple on the ice for 738 games.
Chris Therien: Lovable Bundy saw his career benefit by being Desjardins partner. Only Flyer d-man to own Jaromir Jagr in head-to-head play.
Terry Carkner: Stay-at-home defenseman who was well-liked in five seasons as a Flyer.
Goalie
Ken Wregget: Only Flyer goalie to play in net at both ends of the state (with Penguins) in the same era, he won 22 games in 1989-90.
Dominic Roussel: A well-traveled netminder, he won 29 games for the Flyers in 1993-94, though his save percentage was under .900.
Ron Hextall: Third all-time in shutouts with 18, he won more games than any other Flyer goalie (240).
