The Flyers have entered into a minor-league affiliation agreement with the Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League for the 2011-12 season.

The Titans, who are based out of the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J., will serve as the Flyers secondary affiliate, meaning that players under contract to the Flyers or Adirondack Phantoms can be assigned to the team. The Titans replace the Greenville Road Warriors, which served as the Flyers ECHL affiliate last year.

This is a tremendous opportunity for hockey fans in Trenton and the surrounding region to identify new up-and-coming future prospects and watch them grow into possible NHL stars, said Comcast-Spectacor president Peter Luukko.

When the Titans originally entered the ECHL, they were affiliated with the Flyers. However, for the past four seasons, they have played as the Trenton Devils.

To be affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers and Adirondack Phantoms will greatly enhance what it means to be a member of the Trenton Titans, said Titans PresidentCEO Rich Lisk. The Flyers are committed to winning at every level. We hope to help them with that commitment by developing their future AHL and NHL players.
