Flyers trim roster to 38 players

Peter Laviolette strongly hinted the Flyers would make some roster cuts on Saturday and thats exactly what transpired as five players were sent back to the Phantoms.

The biggest name on the list was goalie Johan Backlund, who will have to clear waivers to get back to the Phantoms.

Also cut was fellow goalie Jason Bacashihua; forwards Jon Kalinski, Stefan Legein and defenseman Dan Jancevski. By Saturday afternoon The Flyers also sent defenseman Kevin Marshall and forward Mike Testwuide to the Phantoms.

Here is the complete list of players trimmed from the Flyers roster on Saturday as they cut down to 38 players:

In addition, Brad Phillips, Cullen Eddy, Garrett Klotz and Garrett Roe were released from their NHL Professional Try-Out and will report to Adirondack as well.
