But both Earl Pettis and Matt Sheehan overcame similar hurdles to be where they were Saturday afternoon on the dais, answering questions about La Salles first 20-win season since 1991-92.

Villanova's 72-68 Saturday loss to Cincinnati at the Pavilion was a microcosm of the team's entire season: Maalk Wayns did a whole lot, and didn't get much help.
Wayns finished with a game-high 26 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome some clutch shooting by the Bearcats in the final five minutes. Cincinatti's Sean Kilpatrick, JaQuon Parker and Dion Dixon all hits threes to put and keep the Bearcats ahead with 4:16, 3:10 and 1:03 remaining. Those threes and -- in coach Jay Wright's estimation -- Cincinnati's experience proved to be the difference.

Temple 80, Fordham 60

NEW YORK -- Temple made the trip up the New Jersey Turnpike with something big at stake and the 23rd-ranked Owls will head home with their first outright Atlantic 10 regular-season title in 22 years.
Juan Fernandez scored 19 points and backcourt mate Ramone Moore added 16 to lead Temple to an 80-60 victory against Fordham on Saturday.
