CHICAGO – As expected, Domonic Brown is not in the Phillies’ lineup for Saturday afternoon’s game at Wrigley Field.

Brown left Friday’s game after a sixth-inning groundout. He was hobbling badly, the result of his dealing with a painful right Achilles tendon issue. Brown is scheduled to have an MRI in Philadelphia on Monday.

Brown initially hurt himself hitting the first base bag on Aug. 23. He came out of the game the next day and missed several starting assignments before returning to the lineup Thursday in New York.

“It’s hurting,” Brown said after Friday’s game. “I’ll probably have to watch it for the rest of the season. Hopefully it doesn’t get worse.”

The Phillies have plenty of experience with Achilles injuries as Ryan Howard has missed significant time since tearing his left Achilles tendon in the 2011 playoffs. Howard is out for the remainder of this season after having left knee surgery in July.

Brown’s Achilles injury is different than the one Howard had.

“He blew his out,” Brown said. “Mine is just lingering. Everything looks good. It’s just sore.”

It’s unclear how much time Brown will miss, but the Phillies will exercise caution.

Third baseman Cody Asche is also out of Saturday’s lineup. He remains day-to-day after suffering some cramping in his hamstring Wednesday.

Here is the Phillies’ lineup for Saturday against Cubs’ lefty Chris Rusin:

1. Michael Young, 3B
2. Jimmy Rollins, SS
3. Chase Utley, 2B
4. Carlos Ruiz, C
5. Darin Ruf, LF
6. John Mayberry, RF
7. Kevin Frandsen, 1B
8. Roger Bernadina, CF
9. Cliff Lee, P
