Carlos Ruiz was named National League Player of the Week on Monday after racking up 11 hits and seven RBIs over the past seven days.

In six games against the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, Ruiz went 11 for 22 with six extra-base hits, seven RBIs, eight runs and five walks. His slash line for the week: .500/.593/.909.

Ruiz was hitting .204 without an RBI going into Monday's game against the Dodgers. He's since raised his average to .296. He also hit his first homer of the season Monday.

Winners in six of their past eight games, the Phillies return home Tuesday to open up a seven-game homestand (see story).
