Carlos Ruiz wasn't in the starting lineup for the Phillies' matinee against the Miami Marlins, but he was active in the bowling lanes on Thursday evening.

Ruiz and the Phils hosted a charity bowling fundraiser at South Bowl in Philadelphia to help raise money for Philadelphia Futures.

Philadelphia Futures works with low-income high school students in an effort to prepare them to be ready to enter and succeed in college.

"I've been coming out here year after year to help support Philadelphia Futures," Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard told Comcast SportsNet's Marshall Harris. "It's a great cause, helping kids. It's always fun to be out here and help support."
