Carlos Ruiz, as expected, has officially been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

The news that Ruiz would be placed on the DL came Monday after his scheduled MRI, but the Phillies waited until today to make the move. He is expected to miss three to four weeks with a Grade 2 strain.

Tuesday night's starting pitcher Tyler Cloyd will be replacing Ruiz on the roster.

Filling in for Ruiz behind the plate while he is on the DL will be Humberto Quintero, who was recalled from Triple A Lehigh Valley to replace Mike Adams (back strain) on the roster, and Erik Kratz.

For more on the Phillies' injury situation, including the latest on Mike Adams and Ryan Howard, here's Jim Salisbury's report from Monday night.
