TORONTO – Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey and newcomer Troy Tulowitzki combined to cool off the Phillies on Wednesday night.

Dickey pitched eight innings and did not allow an earned run and Tulowitzki drove in three runs to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-2 win over the Phillies.

The loss was the just the Phillies’ second in 11 games since the All-Star break.

Starting pitching report
Jerome Williams was racked for 10 hits and four runs in 4 2/3 innings. He is now 3-8 with a 6.36 ERA in 16 starts.

Dickey, a frequent Phillies tormenter, gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out four. Both of the runs he allowed were unearned. Dickey is 5-4 with a 2.58 ERA against the Phillies in 11 starts.

Bullpen report
Justin De Fratus was tagged for four runs in 2 1/3 innings.

At the plate
The Phils had just seven hits, two by Jeff Francoeur.

The Jays had 16 hits. They raised their majors-leading runs total to 538.

Tulowitzki, acquired Monday night in a trade from Colorado, led the Jays with a two-run homer, a pair of doubles, three RBIs and a run scored in his debut with the club. He hit a mammoth two-run homer against Williams on an 0-2 pitch in the third inning.

End of an era
Cole Hamels' time in Philadelphia came to an end Wednesday night, as the Phillies traded the left-hander to the Texas Rangers (see story).

Up next
The Phillies return home Thursday night to open a four-game series with the Atlanta Braves. Aaron Harang (4-11, 4.08) will come off the disabled list to face Braves right-hander Shelby Miller (5-7, 2.27). Harang has not pitched since July 1 due to plantar fasciitis.
