BOX SCORE

Julio Teheran teased the Phillies’ hitters and danced out of trouble for seven innings as the Atlanta Braves salvaged the finale of a four-game series in a 6-2 victory.

Teheran allowed just a run in the second inning when the Phillies had two on and no outs and another in the fifth after three two-out hits. However, the Phillies went 2 for 8 with runners in scoring position.

The defeat is just the third for the Phillies (41-65) in 15 games since the All-Star break.

Starting pitching report
Adam Morgan played with fire a little too long in Sunday’s five-inning effort. In giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks, the rookie lefty allowed hits to the first two hitters of the game and walked and gave up a single to open the fourth.

However, a two-out RBI single in the fifth by Chris Johnson followed by a walk to Jonny Gomes set the table for a three-run homer from Jace Peterson.

Morgan walked three and struck out one. He also hit a batter, threw a wild pitch and committed a balk.

Teheran struck out seven and didn’t walk a hitter. He allowed seven hits to improve to 7-6.

Bullpen report
Justin De Fratus pitched a scoreless sixth inning, but pushed his luck in the seventh by allowing two runs on a pair of hits. Jeanmar Gomez got the last out of the seventh and threw a 1-2-3 eighth.

Luis Garcia pitched a scoreless ninth to finish it out.

At the plate
The Phillies pounded out three doubles but stranded three runners in scoring position. Ryan Howard had a pair of hits, including a double off the wall in right in the second inning, and Freddy Galvis also had two hits.

The Phillies did not draw a walk, though Dom Brown was hit by a pitch in the second inning.

Utley rehab
Chase Utley, recovering from right ankle inflammation, began a rehab assignment on Sunday at Triple A Lehigh Valley, going 2 for 3 with a walk as the IronPigs' DH.
