BOX SCORE

ATLANTA -- The Phillies completed another dreadful road trip with a 6-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.

The Phils went 1-5 on the trip. They went 1-8 on their previous trip. They are 5-19 since the All-Star break.

Thursday is an off day for this woeful team. On Friday, the Phils open a three-game series at home against the sizzling Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers entered their game Wednesday night with a 22-3 record since the break.

Starting pitching report
John Lannan was ineffective and injured. The left-hander was charged with five runs in 1 1/3 innings. He left the game with an injury to his left knee. He missed two months earlier in the season with a strained quad tendon in the area of his left knee.

Lannan allowed four hits, including a leadoff homer to Jason Heyward, and five runs. He walked three. He has allowed 13 runs and eight walks in 6 1/3 innings over his last two starts.

Phillies starting pitchers have a 6.39 ERA since the All-Star break. Take Cole Hamels out of the equation and it is 8.04.

Braves’ right-hander Brandon Beachy allowed just two runs over six innings for the win. He walked none and struck out four.

Bullpen report
The Phils used four relievers to clean up.

Craig Kimbrel got the save, his NL-best 38th.

At the plate
Domonic Brown had a good night at the plate with a single, a double and his 27th home run.

Darin Ruf smacked his seventh homer in the ninth.

Heyward led off the game with his 11th homer. Chris Johnson singled home two runs in the second inning for the Braves.

Rain report
The start of the game was delayed one hour, 48 minutes by rain.

Rehab road
Roy Halladay will make a rehab start Thursday afternoon in Clearwater, Fla., for the Phils’ Gulf Coast League team. If Halladay comes out of that OK, he could pitch again on Tuesday and be in line to rejoin the Phillies’ rotation during the final week of August.

Also on the rehab trail, Jonathan Pettibone will pitch at Double A Reading on Thursday night.
