BOX SCORE

PHOENIX – The Phillies’ three-game winning streak ended with a loud thud Monday night. The Phils absorbed a 13-3 beating from the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

The Diamondbacks abused Phillies pitching for 17 hits, including three home runs.

Maikel Franco doubled and clubbed a mammoth homer for the Phillies.

The Phillies are 16-6 since the All-Star break.

Starting pitching report
Aaron Harang (5-13) was pounded for 12 hits, including two home runs, and eight earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. Harang has given up 28 hits in 15 1/3 innings over three starts since coming off the disabled list.

Harang gave up a double, triple and home run in the third inning. He also walked a batter in the frame as the Diamondbacks scored three times.

Arizona starter Rubby De La Rosa (10-5) got the win. He went six innings and gave up eight hits and three runs.

Bullpen report
Adam Loewen made his Phillies debut. He faced three batters and was charged with two runs. Justin De Fratus gave up three runs in 1 1/3 inning.

At the plate
Franco snapped an 0-for-12 skid with a double in the second inning. In the sixth, he crushed an 0-1 slider from De La Rosa high over the center-field wall. According to ESPN stats, Franco’s homer traveled 455 feet, making it the longest homer by a Phillie since Jim Thome clubbed one 459 feet at Minnesota on June 14, 2012.

Chase Utley batted leadoff. He drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third inning and later singled and scored a run. He has five hits in four games since coming off the disabled list.

Yasmany Tomas, Welington Castillo and A.J. Pollock all homered for Arizona. Castillo also tripled.

The Diamondbacks had nine extra-base hits.

Trade talk
The Phillies acquired middle infielder Tyler Pastornicky in a cash deal from the Texas Rangers. He will go to Triple A. Pastornicky increases the team’s infield depth, which could be valuable if Utley is traded. A San Francisco Giants scout watched Utley over the weekend in San Diego and trailed the Phillies to Phoenix for Monday night’s game. The Yankees and Cubs also had scouts at the game. Both would be fits for Utley.

Up next
David Buchanan (2-6, 7.23) starts for the Phillies on Tuesday night against Arizona’s Jeremy Hellickson (7-8, 5.06).
