BOX SCORE

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh and went on to a 10-7 win over the Phillies on Monday night.

Jimmy Rollins, in his first season with the Dodgers after 14 as the Phillies’ regular shortstop, had the big hit. He laced a two-out single to left to score two runs and break a 7-7 tie.

Rollins is the Phillies' all-time hits leader.

The Phils led 6-3 in the fifth inning but starter Sean O’Sullivan could not hold the lead.

The time of game was an interminable four hours, 13 minutes, three minutes shy of equaling the longest nine-inning game in the majors this season.

The loss dropped the Phils to 28-57, worst in the majors.

The Dodgers lead the NL West at 47-37.

Starting pitching report
O’Sullivan was hit hard. He gave up eight hits in 5 1/3 innings and seven of them were for extra bases, including two home runs. One of them was a game-tying three-run homer by Yasmani Grandal in the fifth. In all, he gave up seven runs (six earned), as his ERA soared to 6.08.

The Dodgers used reliever Yimi Garcia as their starter then went to lefty Erik Surkamp, a starter just up from the minors, in the third inning. Garcia surrendered a two-run homer to Freddy Galvis in the second inning. Surkamp gave up a pair of homers and four runs in 3 1/3 innings.

Bullpen report
Jeanmar Gomez took the loss for the Phillies. He allowed Rollins’ go-ahead hit in the seventh, followed by an RBI double to Joc Pederson.

Kenley Jansen ended the long night of baseball with three outs in the ninth and a save.

At the plate
Runs weren’t a problem for the usually low-scoring Phillies. Six of their runs came on home runs, a two-run shot by Galvis in the second, a three-run blow by Ryan Howard in the third and a solo shot by Odubel Herrera in the fourth.

The Phils trailed by a run in the top of the seventh, but tied the game on a sacrifice fly by Galvis.

Adrian Gonzalez belted a two-run homer in the first inning for the Dodgers. Grandal tied the game with a three-run shot off O’Sullivan in the fifth.

The Dodgers were 6 for 17 with runners in scoring position.

The Phillies were 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position.

Roster move
After the game, the Phillies outrighted O'Sullivan to Triple A Lehigh Valley. A corresponding roster move will be made Tuesday.

Lone star
Jonathan Papelbon was selected as the Phillies’ only participant for next week’s All-Star Game. He can’t wait to be traded (see story).

Health check
Jerome Williams (strained hamstring) will pitch for Double A Reading on a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday night at Reading.

Up next
The series continues on Tuesday night. Chad Billingsley (0-2, 7.71) pitches for the Phillies against his former team and lefty Brett Anderson (5-4, 3.00).
