BOX SCORE

NEW YORK — Phillies pitching was tagged for three home runs in a 6-3 loss to the New York Mets on Monday afternoon.

Wilmer Flores had the big blow, a tie-breaking three-run homer off Justin De Fratus in the sixth inning.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Mets, who were swept over the weekend in Pittsburgh, losing the three games by a combined score of 21-4.

The Phillies are 1-6 against the Mets this season. They have lost 17 of their last 22 to the Mets, dating to last season.

Starting pitching report
Rookie Severino Gonzalez registered eight strikeouts, but failed to get out of the fifth inning on his way to allowing six hits — two of which were solo homers — and three runs. He did not walk a batter.

Recently turned 42-year-old right-hander Bartolo Colon (7-3) beat the Phillies for the second time this month with six innings of three-run ball. He walked two and struck out six.

Bullpen report
Lefty Elvis Araujo took his first major-league loss. The score was tied, 3-3, when he allowed a leadoff single to Daniel Murphy to open the bottom of the sixth inning. De Fratus came on and walked a batter on four pitches then allowed a tie-breaking three-run homer to Flores on a 3-1 pitch. In two-thirds of an inning, De Fratus gave up a homer, two walks and two runs.

The Mets’ bullpen pitched three scoreless innings with Jeurys Familia notching his 14th save.

At the plate
Chase Utley drove in the Phillies’ first two runs with a two-out single in the third. Utley had two hits in the game and is hitting .406 (13 for 32) in his last 10 games.

The Phillies tied the game at 3-3 on a long sacrifice fly to center by Ryan Howard in the fifth. Howard came up just a few feet short of a grand slam.

Murphy had an RBI single in the first inning for the Mets. Lucas Duda and Michael Cuddyer had solo homers and Flores had the big one.

In the field
Duda, the Mets’ first baseman, reached into the stands to make a catch on a pop up by Maikel Franco to end the top of the fifth as the Phils stranded two runners.

Up next
The series continues Tuesday night with a pair of right-handers on the mound. Jerome Williams (3-4, 5.44) opposes the Mets’ Jacob deGrom (5-4, 2.75).

deGrom is 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA (three earned runs in 19 2/3 innings) in three career starts against the Phillies. He has struck out 19 and walked five. He tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Phils on April 13.
