WASHINGTON -- The Phillies closed out their season series against the Washington Nationals with an 11-2 loss in the nation’s capital Sunday afternoon.

Washington’s Bryce Harper was a standout at the plate and in the field, and right-hander Jordan Zimmermann won his NL-leading 18th game.

The Phillies went 8-11 against Washington this season, winning just two of nine games at Nationals Park.

The Phils are 16-13 under interim manager Ryne Sandberg.

Starting pitching report
Losing pitcher Tyler Cloyd was pounded for 10 hits and five runs in four-plus innings.

Zimmerman (18-8) gave up seven hits and just two runs over seven innings. He walked two and struck out seven.

In four starts against the Phils this season, Zimmerman was 3-1. He allowed eight earned runs in 27 1/3 innings (2.63 ERA), struck out 19 and walked three.

Bullpen report
The Phillies’ bullpen got beat up. Joe Savery allowed four hits and four runs in one-third of an inning.

Washington’s bullpen did not allow a run.

At the plate
The Phillies were out-hit, 18-8.

Roger Bernadina doubled twice for the Phillies.

Harper had two doubles and a single and scored three runs.

Ian Desmond drove in three runs.

Washington catcher Wilson Ramos had four hits and five RBIs. One of the hits was his 15th homer. Ramos was 7 for 13 with eight RBIs in the series.

Washington leadoff man Denard Span had two hits to improve his hitting streak to 26 games.

In the field
Harper recorded his third outfield assist of the series when he gunned down Darin Ruf trying to stretch a single into a double in the sixth inning. The Nats’ leftfielder has 13 assists on the season.

Lineup stuff
Domonic Brown, recovered from a sore right Achilles tendon, started for the first time in two weeks. He doubled and scored a run in the second inning.

The Phillies open a three-game series against the Miami Marlins at Citizens Bank Park on Monday night. Here are the pitching matchups:
