BOX SCORE

NEW YORK -- After striking out three times in three official at-bats, Marlon Byrd poked a tie-breaking RBI double down the right-field line with one out in the 11th inning to lift the Phillies to a 3-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday night.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Phillies, who are 16-18. The Mets are also 16-18.

The first nine innings took three hours, 58 minutes to play and the teams combined for 28 runners left on base in the nine innings.

The official time of game was four hours, 39 minutes.

Starting pitching report
Roberto Hernandez held the Mets to a run over five innings and left with a 2-1 lead after throwing 99 pitches. Hernandez has put together back-to-back good starts. He has allowed just one run over his last 12 1/3 innings.

Mets right-hander Jenrry Mejia gave up two runs over 4 2/3 innings.

Bullpen report
Jake Diekman and Mike Adams protected the Phillies’ lead in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, but Antonio Bastardo squandered it in the bottom of the eighth when he gave up a two-out walk followed by an RBI double to David Wright.

Bastardo stayed on and pitched a scoreless ninth and Mario Hollands followed with a scoreless 10th before Jonathan Papelbon registered his 10th save.

Hollands got his first big-league win.

The Mets’ bullpen gave up just one run in 6 1/3 innings. Carlos Torres allowed the run in the 11th and took the loss.
