BOX SCORE

The losses continue to pile up for the Phillies. They were defeated, 4-1, by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon.

The Rockies swept the three-game series. The Phillies have been swept in back-to-back series (they were swept in New York last week) for the first time since July 2013. They have lost a season-high seven in a row. That losing streak is their longest since July 2013.

All of Colorado’s runs came on a pair of two-run homers against Jerome Williams. The Rockies hit eight home runs in the series.

The Phillies were 1 for 21 with runners in scoring position in the series.

The Phillies (19-33) are a season-high 14 games under .500

Starting pitching report
Williams (3-5) allowed four runs, all on a pair of homers, and lasted just five innings. Williams made seven starts in May and was 1-4 with a 6.62 ERA.

Colorado’s Jordan Lyles left in the second inning after aggravating an injury to his big toe. He was charged with the Phillies’ only run.

Bullpen report
Jonathan Papelbon got an inning of a work and his 19th game finished. Papelbon needs 29 more games finished to guarantee his contract at $13 million next season.

Colorado lefty Chris Rusin came up huge for his club. He came in after Lyles left the game and pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings for the win. Rusin got a huge assist from right-hander Brooks Brown in the bottom of the seventh. The Phillies had loaded the bases on a walk and two singles against Rusin and Brown came on and struck out the side — Cameron Rupp, Darin Ruf and Ben Revere — to snuff out the threat. The crowd of 22,166 booed the Phillies after Revere’s strikeout.

At the plate
Rupp’s two-out double in the second scored Cody Asche, who had singled.

It’s worth repeating: The Phillies were 1 for 21 with runners in scoring position in the series.

Nolan Arenado and D.J. LeMahieu both hit two-run home runs for the Rockies.
