Roy Halladay will address the media at 2 p.m. regarding his shoulder condition.
Charlie Manuel doesn’t sound overly concerned.
“I think he stands a great chance of pitching again this year, but I need to wait until they announce something,” Manuel told MLB Network Radio this morning.
Halladay was shelled on Sunday and revealed afterward that he had been experiencing shoulder soreness since April 25. He went on the DL Monday and had his shoulder examined in Los Angeles on Tuesday (see story).
It explained the historically rough week he had, in which he allowed 17 runs in six innings in two starts against the Indians and Marlins.
Halladay avoided the DL from 2006-11 but will miss time for the second straight season.
