Mike Adams threw in Clearwater on Friday and felt good, and the Phillies will activate him from the 15-day DL on Sunday, according to CSN Phillies Insider Jim Salisbury.
Adams hasn't pitched since May 10 because of a mid-back strain suffered while shagging fly balls in Arizona.
Adams, the proven setup man brought in to solidify the eighth inning for the Phillies, has a 3.00 ERA in 17 appearances this season. He's struck out 19 and walked six. Thirteen of his 17 outings have been scoreless.
The 34-year-old Adams had a 1.84 ERA from 2009-12 and made more than 60 appearances three times in that span.
He is one of five Phillies currently on the disabled list, along with Chase Utley, Carlos Ruiz, Roy Halladay and John Lannan.
