The Phillies on Tuesday called up Darin Ruf to replace John Mayberry, who has been placed on the disabled list with wrist inflammation.

Ruf has arrived at Citizens Bank Park for tonight's game against the San Francisco Giants.

Mayberry, who started at first base against the Braves on Sunday and went 1 for 4 with a home run, is hitting .213 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 63 games this season.

The 27-year old Ruf has appeared in just seven games for the Phillies this season and has one hit, a home run, in 10 at-bats. Last season he hit .247 with 14 homers and 30 RBIs in 73 games.

Ruf missed time earlier this season with a sprained left wrist. In 23 games with the IronPigs this year, he hit .265 with one home run and 10 RBIs.
