After trading two infielders on Saturday, the Phillies have recalled Cesar Hernandez and Michael Martinez from Triple A Lehigh Valley.
Hernandez and Martinez will take the place of Michael Young and John McDonald on the Phils' 25-man roster.
Young, who hit .276 with eight homers and 42 RBIs in 126 games for the Phils, was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for minor-league pitcher Rob Rasmussen on Saturday night (see story).
Earlier on Saturday, McDonald, a utility infielder, was dealt to the Boston Red Sox. In return, the Phils received minor-league pitcher Nefi Ogando (see story).
Both Hernandez and Martinez have spent time with the Phils this season.
Hernandez has appeared in nine major-league games in 2013, going 7 for 28 at the plate (.250) with one RBI and two runs scored.
In 21 games for the Phils this season, Martinez is just 5 for 30 (.167) with two RBIs and four runs scored.
Both players will be available to play in Sunday's series finale against the Chicago Cubs.
