Another salary arbitration process has been avoided.
The Phillies announced Tuesday night that they have agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal, which includes performance bonuses, with reliever Antonio Bastardo.
Bastardo is the third Phillie to ink a one-year deal to avoid arbitration. Kyle Kendrick and John Mayberry Jr. are the others, while Ben Revere still remains eligible for an arbitration hearing if he and the club do not reach a contract.
Bastardo went 3-2 last season with a 2.32 ERA, 47 strikeouts, 21 walks and 14 holds in 42 2/3 innings. However, he threw his last pitch on Aug. 3 because of a 50-game suspension for violations in relation to baseball's Biogenesis investigation.
Last Friday, the Phillies exchanged salary arbitration figures with Revere and Bastardo.
Revere, who made $515,000 in 2013 asked for a 2014 salary of $2.425 million while the team offered $1.4 million.
Players and teams can continue to negotiate after submitting arbitration proposals.

If a deal is not reached, arbitration hearings are scheduled at the beginning of February.
