Fontenot is Phils' latest call-up from Triple A

The Lehigh Valley to Philadelphia shuttle keeps on rolling.The Phillies have purchased the contract of infielder Mike Fontenot from Triple A Lehigh Valley. He will join the club for Saturday nights game against San Diego. He replaces catcher Erik Kratz, who was sent to Triple A.Fontenot becomes the fourth player to join the Phils from Triple A in 24 hours, joining relievers Jake Diekman and Raul Valdes and infielder Hector Luna.Fontenot, 31, is a career .263 hitter in six big-league seasons. He hit just .227 in 252 at-bats for the Giants last season and was released in spring training. The Phils, looking for infield depth, signed him to a minor-league deal and he hit .319 (15 for 47) with a .373 on-base percentage in 14 games at Lehigh Valley.Fontenot plays second and third base.E-mail Jim Salisbury at jsalisbury@comcastsportsnet.com.
