According to ESPN's Buster Olney (via HardballTalk), the Diamondbacks are "very much open again to talking about trading Justin Upton."
When the Diamondbacks surprisingly signed Cody Ross, it made the chances of Arizona dealing an outfielder much greater.
Major-league sources have told FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi that the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners and Atlanta Braves have all expressed strong interest in the 25-year-old Upton.
Last season, Upton hit .280 along with 17 home runs, 67 RBI and 107 runs scored. In 2011, he set career-highs in home runs (31), RBI (88), doubles (39), and OBP (.369).
Rolen undecided on retirement
Scott Rolen is still unsure whether he wants to play next season or retire.
We spoke before the holidays, Reds GM Walt Jocketty said to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com (via HardballTalk). He hasnt decided. It could be another week to 10 days.
The 37-year-old third baseman has been contemplating retirement since the Reds were ousted by the Giants in the NLDS. Rolen, a 16-year veteran, played only 92 games last season and hit .245 for Cincinnati.

Lohse's status up in air
Free-agent starting pitcher Kyle Lohse is still on the market, and it's unclear how the Cardinals feel about re-signing him.
Lohse spoke with Tim McKernan of KFSN-590 radio (via HardballTalk), and when asked about returning to the Cardinals, McKernan tweeted that Lohse responded by saying, "Since I haven't had any talks with Mo (John Mozeliak, Cardinals GM) in 3 or 4 months, I don't see it as being all that likely."
Lohse made 33 starts last season with St. Louis, went 16-3 and posted a 2.86 ERA.
