The Phillies will go with an extreme righty-heavy lineup Tuesday night against Giants lefthander Madison Bumgarner.
John Mayberry will start in left field and Ty Wigginton at first base. Including switch-hitters Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino and Freddy Galvis, the Phillies batting order has nine righthanded hitters.
Bumgarner has been significantly worse against opposite-handed hitters in his short career. Righties have batted .270.316.401 off him, while lefties have hit .239.281.340.
Mayberry homered off Bumgarner at AT&T Park last August as the second of back-to-back jacks by he and Hunter Pence.
Galvis is the only Phillie in Tuesdays lineup who has never faced Bumgarner. The other seven batters are 7 for 24 (.292) with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Carlos Ruiz is behind the plate for the ninth time in 11 games, a rate that would have him start 132 games.
