The Phillies on Wednesday activated Jim Thome from the disabled list and sent down infielder Pete Orr to triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Thome, who was on the DL because of a lower back strain, is just 2 for 18 this season with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
Orr in 23 games this season is hitting .286 with four doubles, a triple and five RBIs.
