Ruiz jumps to third in All-Star voting

Major League Baseball has released the second balloting figures for the 83rd All-Star Game, and Carlos Ruiz has gained some ground.

Ruiz is now third in fan-voting amongst National League catchers with 1,191,194 votes. Buster Posey of the Giants ranks first with 1,714,839 votes and Yadier Molina of the Cardinals is second with 1,576,199.

Chooch, who ranked fourth in the first balloting figures, jumped ahead of Braves catcher Brian McCann, who has 1,012,743 total votes.

In 54 games this season, Ruiz is batting .347 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs.

Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino are also moving up the All-Star ballot

Pence now ranks seventh amongst NL outfielders with 861,555 votes. He leads the Phillies with 13 home runs and 38 RBIs.

Victorino moved from 15th to ninth amongst NL outfielders with 733,310 votes. He has eight home runs and 33 RBIs in 62 games this season.
