The second game of the Phillies' four-game series against the Braves has been postponed by rain. It began pouring in South Philadelphia around 10:30 a.m. and carried on throughout the afternoon.

No makeup date has been announced yet, but the Phillies have already said the makeup game will not take place this week.

The Phillies face the Braves Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. and Thursday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. Typically, it would make sense to make Thursday a day-night doubleheader, but the Phils have to travel to Colorado to begin a 10-game West Coast road trip. The first game against the Rockies is Friday night at 8:40 p.m., which would have made playing Thursday night difficult for travel purposes.

The Braves come back to Citizens Bank Park twice more this season -- June 27-29 and Sept. 26-28 in the final series of the year.

Cliff Lee will start Wednesday night and A.J. Burnett will take his turn Thursday afternoon, according to CSNPhilly.com Phillies insider Jim Salisbury. The Phils were to face David Hale on Tuesday, but Atlanta will skip his spot in the rotation and instead start Julio Teheran on Wednesday.
