The Phillies' bullpen has had its share of struggles this season.
But on Friday night, six relievers combined to throw seven shutout innings to help the Phils win a 14-inning marathon over the Mets, 6-5 (see story).
"Everybody and their brother [pitched] in this one," Phillies analyst Ricky Bottalico said during Postgame Plus.
Phils manager Ryne Sandberg acknowledged the importance of the bullpen after the walk-off win.
“That was the key,” he said. “They did not give up a run and that gave us a chance.”
