And after a slow start, Cody Asche is starting to heat up, but is there any chance the Phils could see Maikel Franco at some point this season?
"Maikel Franco, I hope he gets to the point where he's ready to help us at the big-league level, but right now he's not," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said on Comcast SportsNet's Monday edition of "Philly Sports Talk."
Franco, the club's highly-touted corner infield prospect, is hitting .241 at Triple A Lehigh Valley. Last season, the 21-year-old clubbed 31 home runs and knocked in 103 runs in 134 minor-league games.
"We truly expect him to be [ready] at some point," Amaro said. "And when he is, I hope he forces our hand."
