Salisbury: ‘I'll eat my shoe' if Gonzalez contributes

What will it take to get CSNPhilly.com Phillies Insider Jim Salisbury to eat his shoe?

A contribution to the Phils this year of any sort by right-hander Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez, who resumed his rehab Friday night with High A Clearwater.

"If he comes up here some time this season and makes a contribution, I will eat my shoe," Salisbury said on Phillies Pregame Live before Friday's game vs. the Cardinals.

"I've just seen too many guys over the years start up and get shut down again with problems, shoulder problems and they just never seem to go away."

Gonzalez has been a mystery ever since he signed with the Phils in the offseason. He came to the team touted with "great stuff," but never had a real opportunity to show any of it because of injuries.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the team in the winter.
