The night after making three errors in a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, Cody Asche was back at third base for manager Ryne Sandberg and the Phillies on Wednesday afternoon.

"Cody’s our third baseman," Sandberg said after batting practice. "Get him right back out there, bounce back and try to put a game together. I think that will go a long way with him."

Two of Asche’s errors came in the sixth inning and led to four unearned runs behind Cliff Lee, who took the loss.

Asche was batting eighth in the Phillies' lineup Wednesday. He was hitting .226 with three homers and 12 RBIs entering the game.

The Phillies are trying to avoid falling four games under .500 for the first time this season.
