Today's lineup: Maikel Franco not back just yet

Share

Maikel Franco has been activated from the DL but is not in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Mets.

Franco should be available to play Friday.

The Phillies will use Cody Asche at third base, Chase d'Arnaud at shortstop and Freddy Galvis at second base against Mets lefty Sean Gilmartin. Gilmartin has spent most of the season in the Mets' bullpen but is making a spot start for talented rookie southpaw Steven Matz. The Mets are being cautious with Matz, who is feeling some back stiffness.

Carlos Ruiz is behind the plate to catch Jerad Eickhoff.

This is another important game for the Mets, who lead the Dodgers by one game in the standings. Those teams will face off in the NLDS and both are looking to start that series at home.
