Carlos Ruiz is back.

Ruiz, who is returning from a season-opening 25-game suspension, will make his first start of the season and bat fifth in Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets.

In 114 games last year, Ruiz batted .325 with 16 home runs and 68 RBIs for the Phils, who will try to complete a three-game sweep of the Mets. He will be an enormous addition to a lineup that was getting very little from the catcher position in his absence.

Manager Charlie Manuel is giving slugger Ryan Howard the afternoon off. Kevin Frandsen takes over duties at first base and will bat second behind Jimmy Rollins.

It's a battle of lefties on the mound, as Cole Hamels will go head-to-head with Jon Niese.

Hamels hasn't fared well against the Mets in his career. His 10 losses, 4.33 ERA and 1.44 WHIP against New York are all the highest marks he has against any NL opponent (see game notes).

Here's the full lineup:

1. Jimmy Rollins, SS
2. Kevin Frandsen, 1B
3. Chase Utley, 2B
4. Michael Young, 3B
5. Carlos Ruiz, C
6. Domonic Brown, RF
7. John Mayberry, CF
8. Freddy Galvis, LF
9. Cole Hamels, P
