Ryan Howard and Chase Utley will return to the starting lineup when the Phillies open a three-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field on Monday afternoon.

Howard is batting .425 with four home runs and five doubles in his last 10 games. He's just 3 for 17 lifetime against right-hander Bartolo Colon, who will start for the Mets, but two of those hits were homers.

Utley made an appearance as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning of Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Washington Nationals, but struck out. The veteran second baseman is batting .173 with three home runs and 19 RBIs in 41 games this season.

With Utley and Howard back in their usual third and fourth spots in the batting order, Maikel Franco, who hit cleanup Sunday, will slide back to the five-hole.

Elsewhere in the lineup, Grady Sizemore will replace Jeff Francoeur in right field and Carlos Ruiz will take over duties behind the plate.

Severino Gonzalez gets the start for the Phils, who have dropped five of their last six games against the Mets. The 22-year-old is 2-1 with a 7.11 ERA this season.

During his two seasons in New York, Colon is 5-1 with a 3.71 ERA in five starts versus the Phils.
