Domonic Brown's batting average is down to .200 on the season and, mercifully, Ryne Sandberg moved him down a spot in the batting order.

Brown will bat seventh, behind Carlos Ruiz, when the Phillies face the Mets Friday night (see game notes).

Brown has hit .145 at home. He's hit .125 with a .172 on-base percentage and .250 slugging percentage over his last 25 games. So he's essentially hit like a pitcher. For a month. (That's not hyperbole. Major-league pitchers have an identical .125 batting average this season.)

Reid Brignac gets his first start as a Phillie. He'll play third base, where Cesar Hernandez made a physical and mental error in Thursday's loss. Brignac is 1 for 5 with a walk and two strikeouts since joining the team on May 9.

Brignac doesn't have a wealth of experience at the hot corner either, though. He's played just 14 games there in his major-league career and 27 in his minor-league career.

Here is the lineup against Mets right-hander Rafael Montero:

1) Ben Revere, CF
2) Jimmy Rollins, SS
3) Chase Utley, 2B
4) Ryan Howard, 1B
5) Marlon Byrd, RF
6) Carlos Ruiz, C
7) Domonic Brown, LF
8) Reid Brignac, 3B
9) A.J. Burnett, P

And for the Mets:

4) Curtis Granderson, RF
5) Bobby Abreu, LF
6) Lucas Duda, 1B
7) Travis d'Arnaud, C
8) Ruben Tejada, SS
9) Rafael Montero, P
