Cameron Rupp will start for the Phillies for the first time since Sept. 10, batting eighth.

In his first career start, Rupp went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts in his first major-league game against the Padres. His first hit was an infield single.

Not really known for his bat, Rupp hit .258 in the minors this season at Reading and Lehigh Valley with 14 home runs. He averaged a strikeout once every 3.57 at-bats.

Freddy Galvis will hit above Rupp in the seventh spot, playing third. Galvis hasn't seen the field since last Tuesday.

Zach Miner will take Kyle Kendrick's spot in the rotation yet for the second straight time. Last time out, Miner went just three innings on 61 pitches. He is searching for his first major-league win in four years (see game notes).
