Cameron Rupp gets his first career start at catcher for tonight's series opener against the San Diego Padres.

Rupp, a September call up, played at Reading and Lehigh Valley this year, where he hit .258 with 14 home runs in 94 games. The 24-year old will bat out of the eight hole, right above his batterymate for the night, Tyler Cloyd.

Cloyd gets the start for the Philles for the eighth time this season and first since being recalled from Lehigh Valley (see game notes). In his last appearance, he went five scoreless innings in relief against the Diamondbacks in a game the Phillies ultimately lost in 18 innings.

He will face Andrew Cashner, who is 8-8 with a 3.45 ERA.

Darin Ruf will bat cleanup coming off of a big game in Sunday's sweep of the Braves, in which he hit a solo homer in the eighth to put the Phillies ahead for good.

Here's the full lineup:

1. Roger Bernadina, CF
