The Phillies begin a three-game set with the red-hot Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday and Charlie Manuel is using the same lineup he went with in Sunday's series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Michael Young will lead off for a fourth consecutive game. When batting first this season, Young has gone 16 for 39 (.410) with seven runs and two RBIs.
The Phils will face 24-year-old right-hander Brandon Cumpton (0-0, 3.60). Cumpton has started two games for Pittsburgh this season, allowing 12 hits, five runs (one unearned) in 10 innings of work. He has eight strikeouts to two walks.
Rookie right-hander Jonathan Pettibone (3-3, 4.17 ERA) will make his 14th start of the season for the Phils. He has not won a game since May 14 (see game notes).
Pettibone made his major league debut against the Pirates earlier this season, allowing two runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings of work on April 22. He struck out six and walked none in the Phils' 3-2 victory at Citizens Bank Park.
