It worked Monday and Tuesday, so the Phillies’ lineup for Wednesday’s meeting with left-hander Gio Gonzalez and the Washington Nationals remains the same.

Ben Revere, hitting .451 over his last 12 games with six runs and six RBIs, remains in the leadoff spot, with Jimmy Rollins second and Chase Utley third. Michael Young stays in the five-hole, where he could produce a few runs against a lefty he’s homered twice against.

Darin Ruf is back at first base for the injured Ryan Howard. Ruf is 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs against Gonzalez, while Howard is 0 for 8 with four strikeouts against the southpaw. This is a case where The Big Piece’s absence may actually help (see game notes).

Carlos Ruiz is behind the plate to catch Cliff Lee for the seventh time this season.

Lee, who has a 3.53 career ERA, has a 2.57 ERA in 53 starts with Ruiz.

Here is tonight’s lineup:

1) Ben Revere, CF
2) Jimmy Rollins, SS
3) Chase Utley, 2B
4) Domonic Brown, LF
5) Michael Young, 3B
6) Delmon Young, RF
7) Darin Ruf, 1B
