The Phillies and Tigers are in a rain delay in Detroit. The first pitch was scheduled for 7:08 p.m., but has been pushed back to 7:55 p.m.

When the game does start, the Phillies will try to end a season-worst six-game losing streak when they take on the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night.

Michael Martinez is the Phils' starting centerfielder for Game 2 of the series. He will take over for John Mayberry and bat ninth.

Martinez has appeared in seven games for the Phils this season. He is 1 for 6 at the plate with one RBI.

Erik Kratz replaces Carlos Ruiz behind the plate. He will catch for Phillies starter Raul Valdes.

Cliff Lee was scheduled to pitch but was scratched with a stiff neck, leaving the start to the 35-year-old journeyman Valdes. Valdes has struggled in 2013, pitching to a 7.59 ERA and allowing 33 baserunners in 21 1/3 innings (see game notes).

AL All-Star Game starter Max Scherzer will be on the mound for the Tigers.
