MIAMI — More health concerns for the Phillies.

Chase Utley was scratched from Tuesday night's lineup after feeling discomfort in the right side of his torso during batting practice. The word on Utley came down about 30 minutes before first pitch. Freddy Galvis was inserted at second base in place of Utley. The seriousness of Utley's problem was not immediately known. A team official said he would be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

Injuries have hit the Phillies hard lately. Roy Halladay, Carlos Ruiz and Mike Adams have all gone on the disabled list in recently. Ryan Howard returned to the lineup Tuesday night after missing two games with left knee soreness that required a cortisone injection.

Utley missed significant time the last two seasons with knee problems, but he's been healthy this season. He had played in 44 of the team's first 45 games.
