The Phillies spent $4.5 million this week to re-sign Grady Sizemore and Jerome Williams, two players who fill holes the farm system was not prepared to.
In an interview with CSN's John Clark Thursday, Phillies interim CEO Pat Gillick admitted that the team likely won't contend until at least 2017.
