Freddy Galvis Heading to the DL

Really? Really?!?

Really.

Freddy Galvis is the latest Phillie to go down with an injury.

Galvis left Wednesday night's loss to the Dodgers after experiencing back pain during an at bat in the bottom of the fifth inning. He was consulted by team trainer Scott Sheridan and Charlie Manuel after initially feeling pain on a swing but remained in the game for another two pitches. That one last swing was barely a real swing as the pain appeared to be too much and Galvis immediately took himself out of the game, limping to the bench.

He made a fantastic web gem early in Wednesday night's loss in which he contorted his body awkwardly while making a running over-the-shoulder-while-turning catch. You have to wonder if that was what set it off. [watch that sick web gem here]

He's headed to the DL tomorrow with a lower back strain. Pete Orr probably didn't get too far away from Philadelphia.

Charlie Manuel summed up life as a Phillies fan pretty well following the loss.

"Right now everything about our team is kind of whacked up."
